Boggy Creek is an AVID Showcase School, designed to engage the learners and provide them with the critical skills to become confident, independent thinkers and self-directed learners. Students learn to collaborate productively for learning and develop skills necessary to succeed in the 21st Century. Additionally, Boggy Creek is also a Dual Language and Cultural Arts chool that encourage sstudents to develop a second language, embody creative thinking ,analyze, and appreciate visual art, literature, music, theater, and dance. Boggy Creek provides students with the skills necessary to enter a competitive international work force while inspiring them to appreciate specific activities that produce sensitivity in the humanity. Students at Boggy Creek become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural individuals equipped to navigate through aculturally diverse world.
Central Avenue Elementary School is a community of lifelong learners that is committed to using effective and engaging instructional strategies in the classroom. At Central Avenue, the staff focuses on student-centered teaming structures, which allow the students to work collaboratively and prepare for college and career readiness in the global job market.
The Mill Creek Gators are a family of learners that is student-centered, working together to ensure every student is safe and has the best opportunity to succeed in our diverse community. Following its Environmental Management and Energy program, students engage in eco-friendly activities focused in understanding the structure and the functioning of the environment, the Earth, and how humans fit in. The goal is to inspire students to be conscientious about their environment, reflect on their every day actions and to develop the ability to make thoughtful decisions to create an environment that allows all to live the best quality life. The energy and environmental focus promote outdoor learning experiences, project-based enrichment opportunities and increases real-world connections while igniting the student’s innovative thinking skills.
The agri- and animal science program promotes better understanding of the living environment, research, and train on the development of agricultural productivity and farming. Students will study animals – their habits, their traits, and their roles in the environment. Learners become critical thinkers, make cross curricular connections, increase supplemental experiences while creating a positive and safe school environment to ensure that our students are successful academically and emotionally. The agri-animal science program allows students to have direct interaction with nature when growing and harvesting crops and raising and caring for animals as part of their curricular activities. Sunrise Elementary is harvesting the future zoologist and botanist of our community.
The teachers and staff at Ventura Elementary work diligently to promote a positive, student-centered learning environment, focusing on helping students grow academically, behaviorally, and socially. Lessons are designed to make learning hands-on, collaborative, and inquiry based. Ventura provides students the opportunity to prepare for college and career through our AVID program (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and become bilingual and biliterate through our Dual Language Program. In addition, Ventura Elementary is adding a Medical Science and Technology learning track so that all students, K-5, will have the opportunity to learn about fitness, wellness, sports medicine, coding, cybersecurity, and robotics. Our goal is to foster a love for learning and guide students into preparing for college and careers.
