Narcoossee Middle School (NCMS) has the distinction of being an AVID National Demonstration School. At NCMS, AVID doesn't live just in the elective courses, but it is practiced schoolwide, empowering our students with the tools to become college and career ready. Additionally, we have multiple STEM programs that focus not only on engineering, but on multiple aspects of STEM education, exposing students to different career paths within the field. NCMS has academic clubs such as Robotics, Odyssey of the Mind, Math Competition Team, and Battle of the Books. Moreover, our National Junior Honor Society has more than 70 members who are not only academically sound, but also develop a sense of leadership, and find multiple ways during the year to develop these leadership traits, manifesting them into multiple service projects. To add to the leadership development of NCMS students, our Latinos in Action program has completed its second year and continues to foster servant leadership in our students, establishing a reading program with our neighboring school, Narcoossee Elementary. Furthermore, NCMS has a successful Band and Jazz program that boasts having students participating in both All-County and All-State Band. Last, but certainly not least, is our athletics. Our Black Bears are student-athletes who continue to excel inside the classroom, as well as on the court and on the field. In the end, NCMS is an amazing school surrounded by an amazing community. It is an A school that sees a student's current performance, but more importantly, we see their future potential. After attending NCMS you will never be a stranger because Once a Bear, Always a Bear!
